Obi wants S/S, S/E leaders’ meeting sustained for political devt

Former Governor of Anambra State , Dr Peter Obi has said that the recent meeting by the political leaders from the South-South and South East of the country, should be sustained to engender love, peace and unity of the country.

In a telephone interview with Vanguard, the former governor reiterated the importance of such meeting and why it must be sustained.

According to him, in a time like this in Nigeria, all efforts must be geared towards all that will unite every part of the country for the development and growth of the nation.

He noted that stakeholders should ensure that such meeting is sustained to grow the country’s democracy.

Lauding the development and the idea behind the meeting, Obi said: “The idea of the meeting is a welcome development, which should be sustained. The critical ingredient of democracy is the ability of the leaders to consult with the people and carry them along in whatever they do.

“This is because their services are for the people. At this critical time in our country, we all need to work together, show love for the peace and unity of the country. We need to work together, show love for the development of our country.” He added.
