As alumni of the Faculty of Dental Science, College of Medicine, University of Lagos held its first lecture in Lagos yesterday, the Chief Executive Officer, Newcross Petroleum, Dr. Bolaji Ogundare, has called on private organisations to assist in funding the health sector.
Ogundare, who spoke at the 2017 Annual Faculty Conference/ First Alumni Lecture of the institution said the private sector had to invest in hospitals for better service delivery.
According to him, “Nigerians can no longer depend on government allocations to the hospitals all the time; institutions have to start reaching out to private organisations to help them in funding the health sector.
“For you to be a good doctor, it is not just in reading, but it also being able to practice. In terms of practice, we are very low and, to correct that, investments must be done, and that is where we are.”
