The Rivers State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has lampooned the state All Progressives Congress, APC, for “lacking knowledge of the basic tenets of law” in its call on Senator George Sekibo (PDP Rivers East) to vacate the National Assembly.
The PDP state Chairman, Mr. Felix Obuah, said the call was a pointer to the pure case of ignorance of the law by the leaders of APC in the state.
Obuah noted that the ruling of the election petitions tribunal, which is a court of first instance, is still subject to appeal and cannot come into force until all the options available to the litigants, to critically examine the merits and demerits of the ruling, are exhausted on appeal.
Recall that Senator Sekibo lost at the state election petitions tribunal to his opponent, Chief Andrew Uchendu of APC.
