Jos—THE Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, University of Jos chapter, has enlightened the newly-admitted students of the institution on the needed steps to take in avoiding harassment and other forms of assaults while on campus.

The union, in a public lecture entitled Corrup-tion/Sexual Exploitation: Confronting the Menace, yesterday, reminded the students that it was more beneficial to fail their examination with their integrity intact than succumb to any kind of sexual exploitation by lecturers.

Addressing the students, the ASUU chapter Chairman, Dr. Christopher Piwuna, urged them to be bold and always report cases of harassment of whatever form to the relevant authorities and get help rather than living in fear and giving in to conditions that demean their persons.

Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Sebastian Maimako, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, Professor Teresa Nmadu, challenged the students to learn ways of conducting themselves with dignity and cautioned staff, who are in the habit of exploiting students, to desist from such habit.
