ABUJA—Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr Okechukwu Enelamah, yesterday inaugurated the Board of Governance of the Bank of Industry, BoI, in Abuja.
Enelamah, commended the bank for not discriminating against small businesses as well as the large ones.
According to him,the BoI has earned the trust of key agencies and other sectoral players in the government agencies.
“This is because it always discharges its responsibilities accordingly,” the minister said.
He stated that the BoI was already working with a team of industrialists, medium and small scales, to enable them achieve their objectives .
He said: “They understand the importance of development banks and they have mapped out strategies to substantially raise their capital to make more money available to our teaming industrialists.
“The importance of the BoI cannot be over-emphasised. BoI has been a partner with government business, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and they have played a role in our social invention funds through the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises,” he said.
Also, the chairman of the newly inaugurated board, Mr Ali Abdulrahman Dikko, said their inauguration was a call to national service.
He assured that they will put in their best as the board will place emphasis on the developmental impacts.
